The boombox design helped Kash n' Gold, who license the Jeep brand, to expand their market with a design aimed at customers that appreciate the rugged but contemporary Jeep image. The boombox speakers point up while being carried. The outside of the boombox is metallic and rubberized and the lid is weather sealed to protect the CD player and controls.
The design won an IDEA Bronze Award in IDSA's annual design review.
